Mardi Himal Trekking
Mardi Himal trekking is one of the bitten Eco-tourism based trekking destination in Annapurna Himalaya region. Mardi Himal is the name given to the feature of the long rising ridge and its summit that from the south-westerly lower slope of Mount Machhapuchhare, the famous triangular skyline that is seen from the Phewa Lake at Pokhara. Mardi Himal is located in the east of the Modi Khola, across the valley from Hiunchuli. It is separated from Machhapuchhre ridge by a col. and usual route of ascent reaches this col (about 5,200m. /17,060 ft.) and reaches the summit via a route on its east flank. The climb begins by heading steeply towards the col on the connecting ridge between Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre. High camp is usually placed just below the final steep (45 degrees) couloirs leading to the col (about 4,650 m. /15,256 ft.) From high camp, climb to the col and turn west, ascending steep snow slopes to the summit. The first ascent to the Mardi Himal in 1961. The first route was via the East Flank and it is the only used so far. Mardi Himal separates the southwest ridge of fishtail as a separate mass at right angles to the ridge and it is best seen from the south Descend the same route. Mardi Himal trek offers the opportunity to escape Nepal’s tourist trails to venture in to the deep forests and roam the high alpine pastures that flank the Annapurna ranges.

The emphasis of Mardi Himal trekking is on the forest and wilderness zone of these mountains. Mardi Himal trekking, follows the least trodden trail away from the trekkers madding crowd with and essence of exploration. We ascend through Hindu villages and pristine oak and rhododendron forest to alpine campsite that afford close up dramatic scenery of sacred Mt. Machapuchare, Mardi Himal and Annapurnas. The great ice fields and the blue glaciers of the Annapurana sanctuary walls lie below us. We descend from the different route to the warm valley and friendly villages on the bank of Mardi river still away from the used trekking routes.
